Puppy Allocation
Once your application is received, we will review your information and we will communicate with you about what qualities you are looking for to ensure we understand your desires for your new companion. As you list your desired traits, know that the temperament match is high in priority. We encourage you to consider adopting either sex as both males or females make equally great quality companions! Often, we get assorted colors in a litter and a mix of males and females, sometimes more of one than the other, ultimately the temperament is the key factor. We work very hard to find the best fit for our puppy and your family.
We will do a full assessment of each litter. When the puppies are 6 weeks old they are matched with their new families based on our evaluation of the puppies temperament in conjunction with the adoptive families preferences stated in the applications, email correspondence and phone conversations. Using the individual assessment is the best way to ensure that your family will receive the “just right” puppy that you have been wanting and the reason we do not allow families to simply choose a puppy based on photos alone. These are our precious fur babies, and we want you to be happy with the right match based on temperaments, family dynamics and desired traits. Since the puppies live with our family and we know each puppy’s daily pattern we will give honest insight about what we see in each individual to ensure the proper match.
Visitation Policy
Visiting the litter you are receiving a puppy from can be arranged after the 7 week mark. Hills West Labradoodles has the highest concern for the health and safety of pregnant females and puppies. As a health and safety precaution, our home is not open to the general public for visitations as the puppies do not have immunization vaccines yet. They build their immunities slowly until they reach a safe age to have their first vaccination. We take the utmost care in caring for our precious puppies, therefore protecting the well-being of your puppy by not having visitors come in and out. Thank you for understanding and working with us to help bring you and the other families with reservations in this litter the healthiest possible pet you can have, we know how exciting it is and how much you want to see your baby and new best friend.
While you wait to meet your new family member please review the information on our website to prepare for your puppy. Be sure to download and read the free downloadable book from Dr. Ian Dunbar under our “Resource” tab. Other great books to read after the Dr. Ian Dunbar book are listed on my Resource page as well.
